Why “GHAITH”?

The name Ghaith in Arabic evokes the rain that nourishes when most needed: timely, merciful, and life-sustaining. In that same spirit, GHAITH 2025 brings together institutions, professionals, and communities to rethink the role of artificial intelligence and technology in medicine. It is not simply a meeting, but a collective movement, affirming that healthcare must remain human-centred, that technology must submit to ethics and law, and that knowledge must serve humanity with equity and responsibility.

GHAITH is not a conventional summit. It is a movement of conscience that restores the human soul of medicine, honours knowledge when used for good, and encourages the scientific world to lead with compassion, not competition

Vision

The vision of GHAITH is to position Dubai as a global hub for dialogue and innovation in medical artificial intelligence, not as a symbol of luxury or prestige, but as a means to save lives, ensure fairness in access to care, and preserve the dignity of every patient. It upholds the conviction that no technology has value unless it serves humanity, that no healthcare system can endure without justice, and that no intelligence carries meaning without the guidance of ethics and law.

Mission

The mission of GHAITH is to redefine medical artificial intelligence as a companion to physicians, a tool that strengthens rather than replaces their role. It regards AI not as an autonomous force, but as a bridge between progress and conscience. At its core, GHAITH seeks to restore equilibrium between science and mercy, between innovation and meaning, and between knowledge and humanity.

Strategic Objectives

In alignment with the United Arab Emirates’ Year of the Community 2025, GHAITH aims to empower healthcare professionals through education and training in ethical AI, to promote the responsible and human-centred use of technology, to cultivate a culture of integrity and innovation in medicine and academia, to support the advancement of health justice in national and international policy, to foster cross-border collaboration among global health institutions, to encourage patient-focused research in digital health and artificial intelligence, to engage health communities including nursing and nutrition professionals in the development of AI tools, and to preserve the humanitarian legacy of the UAE through sustainable national initiatives.

A Two-Part Event

GHAITH is a network of two interlinked platforms, united by one vision: ensuring that innovation in medicine remains governed by ethics, integrity, and the common good.

  • The International Summit on Medical AI Co-hosted by the International Society of Medical AI (ISMAI) and the Balsam Healthcare Group, this scientific symposium is the core of GHAITH 2025. Over two days, leaders in medicine, science, law, and policy gather in Dubai to deliberate on governance frameworks, clinical oversight, regulatory responsibility, and the ethical use of AI in health. Far from a commercial or technical exhibition, the summit is a high-level meeting where transparency, accountability, and patient dignity are placed at the heart of digital transformation.
  • The Godfather of Medicine in the UAE Initiative launched under the aegis of Dubai Quality Group, in collaboration with Balsam Academy this initiative commemorates the legacy of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose leadership shaped the nation’s healthcare landscape. Rooted in quality, evidence, and mercy, the initiative includes a formal tribute during the summit, a documentary film, publication of the English edition of The Godfather of Medicine in the UAE, honorary awards for medical-humanitarian excellence, and the launch of mobile clinics dedicated to cancer patients. It is both a memorial and a living national project, extending his humanitarian vision into future generations.

Message from the GHAITH Summit Founder

“Welcome to GHAITH, where medicine rediscovers its noble purpose and technology becomes a servant of mercy.” This summit was born out of experience, reflection, and moral duty. True medicine is not measured by prescriptions or machines, but by how deeply it respects human dignity and how meaningfully it improves the quality of life. We do not fear artificial intelligence; we fear its use without wisdom. We do not reject technology; we reject its misuse when it undermines compassion. GHAITH is not the accomplishment of one person but the result of shared effort, trust, and responsibility. It stands as a collective belief that health is a right for everyone and that progress must always carry a human face. With gratitude,
Dr Bassam Darwish

President, Balsam Academy for Medical Education and Research

Message from the President of ISMAI

At the International Society of Medical AI, we believe that technological progress must advance hand in hand with the ethical progress of our shared humanity. Innovation in medicine has worth only when it serves mankind, upholds dignity, and protects the principles of safety, justice, and compassion that define true care. Technology guided by conscience becomes a force for healing. Our task is to ensure that artificial intelligence strengthens the human connection at the heart of medicine rather than diminishing it. We are proud to bring the International Summit on Medical AI to GHAITH 2025 and to share these two remarkable days in Dubai, the City of the Future, where science and humanity meet with purpose.Dr Omar Tujjar
